So I, in general, represent businesses, for-profits, non-profits, and all in between, with most of their legal needs. Everything from startup to wind down, to operations in the middle. And my practice ranges across all different types of businesses. And so, typically, a client will come to me, and they have either non-profit or for-profit, and they need just their basic legal business services done. And I just range across a lot of different types of businesses, from non-profits to for-profits, to social enterprises, to cooperatives, to all different types of businesses. But my general practice is providing legal services to business owners and the people that manage them.
I’ve been practicing law for almost 23 years now. And, through all that time, what I enjoy most is helping clients solve their problems and being able to help them with the needs that they have, and bringing tools to the forefront that help them. Clients, whoever they are, get from point A to point B when they have issues that they need to solve. And it’s brought me joy, and it still brings me joy every day when a client comes to me or a person comes to me and says, “I need to do this.” And I say, “Okay, I can help you.” And that’s what I love about practicing law. I’m a helper. I get to help. I get to bring a set of tools to a client’s needs, and I get to help them move from point A to point B.
So Avisen Legal is a business law boutique, and all the lawyers that are part of Avisen Legal bring a unique set of business skills for our clients. And so, working together, collaboratively, allows us to serve our clients better. I can always work with one of my partners to tap in with the skills they have that I don’t have, and vice versa. And so, what it allows is the collaborative nature of getting the best legal services for our clients.
I bring a lot of business experience to every client that I work with. And I don’t hesitate to share that with them, both as an entrepreneur who founded a law firm and manages a law firm, and the practice that I have. I’ve had a lot of years of practice working with a lot of different types of businesses. And, I, usually, am not just a lawyer. I actually bring a lot of experience from the non-profit sector, the for-profit sector, and I bring that to my clients. I think it adds value to their experience. Because I’m not just a lawyer who tells them yes or no, I’m actually a partner who helps them navigate both the business that they’re in and their legal needs.
