Clients and friends of Avisen Legal,
First and foremost, we hope you and your family are safe and healthy.
As you all are aware, on Friday, Congress and the President enacted the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The CARES Act measures are in addition to those created by the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA) which is set to go into effect on Wednesday, April 1. Also, on Friday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz imposed Executive Order 20-20 ordering all Minnesotans to stay home, except to pursue a list of essential activities.
The CARES Act provides additional relief for employers, employees and the self-employed. Every employer with fewer than 500 employees should review the provisions of the CARES Act on payroll tax credits, tax deferrals, and the new Payroll Protection Program, which provides substantial economic support for employers that retain workers through September 30, 2020.
In the link below for your reference is a summary of these measures in the CARES Act, the FFCRA and Gov. Walz’s Stay at Home Executive Order. Feel free to forward this summary to anyone that you think may benefit. You can download the document at the following link:
