So I work in the energy space. A good example of that is Trenton Biogas, they are a waste energy company out of Trenton, New Jersey. What they do is they take all of the food waste and other food remnants from the New York City area and Philadelphia, all around there. And they take them and they actually produce a renewable natural gas that can be used as a substitute for the natural gas that you would otherwise get out of the oil fields and the natural gas fields.
The problem with food waste is it goes into landfills and it creates methane and the methane is a greenhouse gas that can cause lots of problems with the environment. And so by taking it and using it as renewable natural gas and taking it out of the landfills, you’re actually lowering the carbon footprint of our energy source. And we’re really excited about that, it’s one of the first of its kind. And I think you’re going to see a lot more of that. It’s the kind of project that we really love to get involved with. Avisen Legal is proud to serve as counsel to Trenton Renewables. Working directly with the Trenton team, we were involved in all aspects of the project, from feedstock and offtake contracts, technical licensing, construction, and working with local counsel on permitting and site control issues.
