Employer Response to COVID-19

Mar. 16, 2020

To all of our clients and friends:

We at Avisen Legal are diligently monitoring the legal implications of the rapidly evolving state and federal governmental actions and recommendations to slow the spread of the coronavirus, and the effects those measures will have on your businesses.

Of immediate concern are the employment law ramifications of potential layoffs, employee absences, employee health and safety, telecommuting, employee privacy, and the appropriate response to employee concerns regarding the impact that the virus and the governmental response to it may have on their livelihood. These concerns require consideration of numerous state and federal laws and regulations relating to medical leave, the ADA, fair labor standards, occupational health and safety, unemployment compensation and workers compensation, and the ever-changing orders issuing form state and federal officials in an effort to stem the tide of COVID-19 cases.

Rest assured that we are monitoring these developments and stand ready to answer your questions and provide guidance to you and your staffs during these challenging times.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Bill Egan at 612-455-3974 or began@avisenlegal.com
